Featured Contributor: Resources for The Year We Learned to Fly were designed by our featured contributor, Tacardra Rountree.Tacardra Rountree obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Fort Valley State University and her Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota. She has over two decades of experience in education and a passionate commitment to literacy. The last ten years of her educational career have been devoted to Multilingual Learner Education. Rountree has been an ESOL Teacher and an ESOL Lead Teacher. She is currently a District Multilingual Learner Coach. In this role, Rountree provides professional development to schools and provides teachers with strategies to support multilingual learners. She is SIOP trained and SIOP Train-the-Trainer trained. Rountree has presented at district, state, and regional levels.
